When you are hosting a dinner, it’s important that you take advantage of all your small appliances, as well as your larger ones. Make sure your dishwasher is empty so that it will hold all the dirty dishes right after dinner, so that cleanup is a breeze and you can spend the time with your guests rather than scrubbing pots and pans and dishes.
If you’re making sauces, dips and other similar foods, then you should definitely use your hand mixer which will speed up the process. Somethings will call for the use of the food processor, or other items, the point is use them so you aren’t in the kitchen for hours.

Aside from that, it’s nice for your table to be set properly for the occasion. If it is a formal meal, then you will have to have everything out on the table, such as the dinner plate, real napkins i. E. Not made out of paper, a wine glass, a water glass, a plate for the salad and for bread. All the cutlery must be properly placed on either side of the dinner plate. Above your dinner plate, you can also have the coffee cup and teaspoon ready, should you be serving coffee right after the meal is finished. If your meal is a casual one, then you can reduce the amount of plates and glasses as well as cutlery that you would put out.
